Design Principals

Ar. Marianne Amores Dutta, MSc.

Marianne (Yani) is a permaculture designer, systems designer, and a regenerative design expert.

As founder of The Regenesis Project, her passion lies in restoring and regenerating local ecosystems and communities at a large scale through a nature-based and systems-wide approach.

She is a licensed architect in the Philippines (2011 board topper) and has extensive experience working in various roles with consultants, contractors, developers and government agencies, both in the Philippines and in Singapore.

She also crafted industry-wide national roadmaps, implementation frameworks, and training programmes to digitalise and streamline the the construction and design industry in Singapore through her role as a Senior Manager in the Building and Construction Authority.

Ar. Alakesh Dutta, MSc.

Alakesh is a practising architect, planner, writer and tutor with a keen interest in design projects informed by research and data.

Sustainability is an anchoring theme across his projects;  each project seeking to but push the boundaries beyond its basic functional purpose and address larger issues impacting both the community and the ecosystems.

Alakesh is currently a Research Associate and design tutor for the Master’s Programme in Integrated Sustainable Design at the National University of Singapore. His current research topics include developing a regenerative & systems-based approach to architectural design and urbanism that aims to transform the built environment to have a positive impact on the planet.

Alakesh is also a certified architect (India) with extensive industry experience working in India, the US and Singapore for over 11 years. Alakesh complements his work with extensive editiorial works on topics related to design and sustainability.
